The Helyar Arms is frequently described as a beautiful and cosy pub in a quintessential English village, creating a dreamy atmosphere for many guests. The bar and restaurant boast tasteful decorations, enhanced by lighting and woodburners for a cosy feel, especially appreciated during November stays. Many found the food outstanding, especially the evening meals and breakfast, though a few guests have mentioned dated decor in some rooms. The presence of dog bowls around the seating area both inside and outside is a particularly welcome detail for those traveling with pets.

Acceptable Village Pub Stay

good food friendly staff warm atmosphere dessert selection limited options television issue
The food was really good. The breakfast, in particular, was great. The staff members were very friendly and helpful, especially during check-in. The pub had a warm atmosphere. It felt cute to everyone.
The television was turned off after a game. Another game was starting. The menu could use more variety in desserts. I found the dessert selection limited . There weren't enough options.

Satisfactory stay

beautiful garden hotel experience poor selection bad smell
The garden was beautiful. I liked watching the world go by while sitting there. Much thought was put into the flowers surrounding this garden. The flowers enhanced the hotel's experience, and I am thankful for it.
The selection of hot drinks were poor. There was also a bad drain smell in the bathroom. I paid extra for breakfast, but the choice are limited. The sausage was inedible, and the two juices had gone off.
